ARTNOIR JAR OF LOVE FUND FOR THE LOS ANGELES CREATIVE COMMUNITY
We at ARTNOIR have been considering what it takes to make the overwhelming actionable. And it starts with community.
For the past decade, we have championed equity across the arts and culture industries, providing relief, love, and care for artists, designers, curators, and cultural producers of color when they need it most.
In order to meet the needs of our LA brothers and sisters, we have developed a special LA granting cycle as part of the Jar of Love Fund.
We founded the Jar of Love in 2020 to provide relief for our community, giving creatives of color access to funds and resources typically not reserved for them in the mainstream art world. To date, we have distributed over $300,000 in unrestricted grants, alleviating financial burdens and empowering artists to create and thrive.
The application is open, and we encourage you to apply and share. All recipients will remain private, and will be contacted on a rolling basis.
Applications are open to all those 18 years or older working within the arts, residing in Los Angeles, and adjacent Tribal Nations. We welcome all forms of artistic expression, from visual arts including painting and sculpture, to performance art, dance, choreography, design, curation and a wide array of cultural visionaries. We are committed to ensuring that artists, designers, curators, and cultural producers of all gender expressions, sexual orientation, disability status, and socioeconomic class have access to the fund and will actively work to ensure outreach is to groups otherwise excluded from resources of this nature.
We believe the arts and culture are the bedrock of any society. We continue to be in service to our community that has always provided a home for us to retreat to.
